Volunteers must be available one morning or afternoon a week,
attend training, and commit to being involved for a six month period.
We provide training, and ongoing volunteer support and recognition.

Volunteers are required to fulfill the requirements of a police
reference check and provide two references
|
|
Volunteers with a second language are an asset to our literacy
reading partner programs.
|
|
Our volunteer programs are located in many wheelchair accessible
locations.

Our volunteer opportunities include:

Reading Partner Volunteers - support literacy and English as a
second language curriculum with elementary students.
|

Community Gardening - Instructors and Maintenance Volunteers support
school and community gardening projects.
|
 |
Cyberspace
- Internet Coaches share their knowledge of computers and the Internet
with seniors in long-term care facilities and the community.
|
 |
Early Childhood Education Volunteers - support parents and young
children in preschool programs
|
 |
Program Assistants - support our program coordinator in leading
group activities within long-term care facilities with the frail
elderly and elementary children.
|
 |
High School Intergenerational Clubs and Committees - are formed
to support activities for community seniors and also provide community
service credit requirements through volunteering within agencies
serving seniors.

 |
Other volunteer opportunities include - special events, fund raisers,
bingo, board of directors, newsletter, administration, choirs, storytelling
