TIGP historic
and fundamental way of operating is by creative partnerships between
agencies, organizations or institutions interested in providing
intergenerational services and opportunities to their target group(s).
|
TIGP is a community
development organization interested in intergenerational capacity
building within other service providing institutions and organizations.
TIGP performs its role in a collaborative manner and expects the
same from its partners. |
Although TIGP
enters into partnership with a single organization, those partnerships
generally are linked to others by TIGP. For example: |
 |
An organization that is
interested in housing intergenerational services for their clients
(it could be a senior home, a daycare centre, a housing project,
etc.) can be linked with ... |
 |
An organization that is
interested or mandated to provide community services or volunteering
opportunities (it could be a public school, a community based agency,
etc.), while ... |
TIGP assumes
three different and subsequent roles as a partnership evolves:
|
 |
Coordinating (stage 1: to initiate
partnerships) |
 |
Partners Support (stage 2: to support
partners with service provision) |
 |
Advisory (stage 3: to offer on-going
advice as partnerships
are fully established) |
| During its 20 years of
operation, TIGP has developed unique partnership management skills,
three-partite service co-ordination abilities and in-depth understanding
of the essential elements that foster long-lasting partnerships. |
