Grandparents and Grandpals (special older friends) are invited to visit their community schools for a half or full day of learning about education today. The special visitors also participate through sharing stories of life experiences and cultures. Schools develop a Grandparent Day Committee and our staff assist educators and parents with developing the event format and coordinating activities for the day. Past events have included activities such as: students organizing a talent show for visitors, a festive community parade, storytelling, classroom visits, heritage language and classroom performances and providing a luncheon for seniors.
